Brown gull

The brown gull, by its scientific name Larus fuscus, is a bird that lives throughout Europe, Africa throughout America, the Arctic and Asia.

It is recognizable by its white head, belly and crown, yellow beak and legs, red beak tip, brown wings and black wing tips, with small black spots.  

In the brown gull, it is impossible to recognize the female from the male.

It feeds mainly on small fish, molluscs, worms, small mammals and crustaceans.

The brown gull inhabits mainly wetlands. It is usually found in groups, at the edge of cliffs, on the coasts, on the roofs of buildings.

It nests in colonies, on the edge of cliffs. It lays between 2 and 3 eggs.

It is a rather talkative species.
